Echoes in the Depths
Dark elves have all but vanished from the world’s collective memory. Elves use them as bogeymen, and in contrast, it is a rare human to have heard anything more of them than that they were like elves, but dark.
Most races: “They were like elves, but dark?” Most don’t know much.
All elves, eladrin and those trained in Knowledge: Elves split many years ago when their pantheon went to war. It’s common knowledge that Corellon was wronged by Lloth and banished her and her followers from the surface.
The players in my original game encountered a group of creatures on entry to the Underdark that were humanoid, but unearthly pale as if they had never seen the sun. They were hairless, had no eyes and their ears had fused open onto their heads. Their torsos had shifted, so that one arm grew longer and became similar in function to a third leg. The hand was larger, with a thumb on each side and a tremor sensing organ on the underside. The other arm was held and acted normally, though more muscular. They spoke broken elven and were able to climb vertical surfaces with ease.
